Gareth Bale admits he’s”not playing happily” in the beginning of the 2019/20 season, following a turbulent transfer window where he came close to leaving Real Madrid.
The 30-year-old’s projected summer proceed to Super League side Jiangsu Suning collapsed amid reports of a falling out with Zinedine Zidane.
Bale, who’s contracted in the Bernabeu, states he stays unsettled in the Spanish team.
He told Sky Sports:”I understand I was created out of a scapegoat than many, I carry it with a pinch of salt even though perhaps it’s not all entirely fair.
“Towards the end of last season was hard, there’s not any denying that, not just for me but to the group.
“I would not say I am playing happy but I’m enjoying, when I am playing I am professional and I am always giving all I am, whether that be for state or club.
“I’m sure there will be a lot more turbulence, to be honest. I guess it is something you will have to speak to Real Madrid about and it’s between them and me, and we will need to come to some type of judgment.”
Bale feels by scoring two goals at three, he’s reacted well at the beginning of this 2019/20 term after a pre-season that is troubled La Liga matches.
Speaking ahead of Wales’ European Qualifier against Azerbaijan, live on Sky Sports, Bale said:”Coming back into pre-season I only kept my head down and I understand there was lots of talk, with folks saying that the good, poor, or whatever they wanted.
“It was not the worst period of my career, it’s been not ideal but I understand how to deal with it and it is all about keeping your head down.
“You get rewarded with the work which you put in and I have begun the season well and also did a great pre-season even if this hasn’t been the situation with the number of games.
“Things in soccer can turn fast and it’s just a matter of time”
Bale is put to captain Ryan Giggs’ side together with Ashley Williams to come back to full match fitness.
He insists that Wales are concentrated on reaching Euro 2020, after defeats to Hungary and Croatia in June, that have abandoned them second from bottom on three points at qualifying Group E.
Bale said:”We know now the pressure that’s on us because we lost the two games in the summertime, we are under no denying that we need to win matches the mindset and the mindset doesn’t change.
“We understand the problem and we are going to do everything we can to win every game we go into today.”
“We have a fantastic group and plenty of youngsters coming through so it’s exciting occasions but we will need to do on the pitch”
Wales play Azerbaijan within their next Euro 2020 qualifier on Friday, live on Sky Sports Premier League.
