Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga demolishes New Zealand with four wickets in four balls

Lasith Malinga ripped through New Zealand’s top order with an four wickets as Sri Lanka triumphed from the next T20I match in Pallekele.
Malinga became the only bowler to record the feat in international cricket – with obtained four in four in the World Cup.
Only one other player has matched the Sri Lanka skipper’s achievement in T20 internationals – before this season, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan, that eliminated four Ireland batsmen in as many deliveries.
Since the Black Caps were eventually bowled out chasing Sri Lanka total of 125-8 malinga finished with characters of 5-6.
The carnage started when Malinga knocked Colin Munro’s leg stump back to claim his 100th T20I wicket – and, three balls later, his tally stood at 103.
Hamish Rutherford was given out lbw on inspection in front of a set of unplayable inswinging yorkers cleaned up Colin de Grandhomme and Ross Taylor to leave New Zealand’s reply in tatters at 15-4.
Malinga shortly completed his five-for with Tim Seifert caught at slip along with the traffic dropped entirely when they lost another 3 wickets in four deliveries, also a run-out followed by 2 for Akila Dananjaya (2-28).
However, Sri Lanka success was only a consolation success, with New Zealand having already won the first two matches to take the series 2-1.
