The 2019 World Grand Prix is simply a matter of days away and the championship looks wide open. In having to hit a double beginning the leg the structure of the important , has lent itself to lots of upsets through recent years. This means there is a shock or two on.
There are enjoying with some fantastic darts right now and you can make a case for a slew of the names in the championship. The fact is telling you of his form recently and how receptive it is. say naturally MVG was going to win and we may return at the conclusion of the week, hes the best player in the world. However, with the arrangement and brief games at the beginning, I would rather look at a few at prices.
Taking a look at the attraction, there is absolutely no half of it to be around. Having said this, but the bottom half is definitely harder. There are a number of tasty looking round games, including Rob Cross v Mensur Suljovic and Gerwyn Price v Dave Chisnall. Chizzy got to the Gibraltar Darts Trophy final, losing out into Krzysztof Ratajski who also finds himself in this side of the attraction last week. A nine darter was struck by chisnall and it seems like he is being actually helped by his darts. Prior to the attraction, I enjoyed the look of Cost, who is only getting better, but me would stress. I am not backing any bets for the championship.
I am looking in the half of the draw for my own selections. YesMichael Van Gerwen is still in this half but he is beatable. You never know in the Grand Prix although he must get through his first two matches. He could face fellow countryman Jeffery de Zwaan at the next round that beat on him in the 2018 World Matchplay. Whoever makes it through that quarter I expect to confront my very first selection JAMES WADE (best cost 25-1).
This championship is obviously loved by the two way Grand Prix winner. Needing to start on a suits Wade given his impeccable record on these. Its a clich?? however he is a clutch player. Hell slip legs from nowhere. Since his sons birth he appears to have become much more relaxed in the oche. His return to the Premier League watched him end in third position before dropping to Rob Cross in the semi-final.
Lately he reached two semi-finals from New Zealand Pros and the Matchplay. Then he followed up with his PDC title of the year a month in the Players Championship at Barnsley. He arrives in Dublin in form that is strong and also with many happy memories here. With a good draw I think Wade is on the side at 25/1. As MVG very well understands after his jolt 2017 exit into the Scotsman his game against John Henderson will not be a pushover. If Wade will get past that using some momentum behind him I will see the Machine.
My next wager is MICHAEL SMITH (best price 22-1). Certainly that important is only around the corner? He keeps knocking on the door at large events and you would think that he will go all of the way later or sooner. It was another impressive run in a big for the Bully Boy although he was against Cross at the World Matchplay final. He had some early exits at the Players Championship at Barnsley month which may be a factor supporting his price. As Smith seems to devote a run at the big events, this doesnt worry me, however.
His ability is simply magnificent and when he can land his doubles in a good rate he can defeat anyone. He could be such a frustrating player to watch and can be his own worst enemy at times. He works herself up a lot over missed chances that he carries to another leg rather than just forgetting about it. He is a pleasure to see when hes on song though.
He has a very large scale quarter of the draw. Of course no games are simple but a participant of Smiths calibre should get either and then beyond Simon Whitlock Joe Cullen or even Ian White. I imagine hes more determined than ever before to win that major that he deserves. He has all of the ability in the world and I dont doubt he will go on to win majors. This week provides a ideal chance.
