Last training camp, Jeremy Hill won the competition to be the New England Patriots’ power back with an impressive preseason and camp. The stint, sadly, lasted just 1 game ahead of the running back blew out his ACL.
This summer, the 26-year-old is still hoping to get rid and find a home. Hill seems optimistic that clearance will come shortly.

“I believe for me coming off a big ACL injury, I am only doing what I could to return to 100 percent,” Hill said, via Herbie Teope of The Advocate. “I understand there is going to be a job awaiting me once I get cleared, so that is all I’m doing now.
“I am just trying to get healthier and after that happens, I will be back. I’m fairly close. I am about eight months from operation, so hopefully soon.”
As he rehabs his knee injury hill remains a free agent.
The running back conquer Mike Gillislee to get a backup role in New England last year during training camp. Before tearing his ACL, his four bags appeared promising, garnering 25 yards (6.3 YPA). In addition, he played in that 1 game on special teams to the Pats.
If he can show he is healthy, Hill could find a shot to battle for a roster spot during somebody’s training camp. Given the standing of backup running backs, that opportunity is not a given, and also the veteran might have to wait until injuries start to accumulate.
His operation last August and early September indicated Hill has a place in the league. Getting healthy is your first step in acquiring another shot to prove that he belongs.
