The Rutgers Scarlet Knights welcome the Minnesota Golden Gophers to Get a Big Ten matchup at New Jersey.
As they hope to avoid a record of rutgers are trying to find signs of life on their roster. Their only win in this season came in Week 1 from the UMass Minutemen.
UMass have just one win too, which came against an Akron squad. Rutgers had another quarterback running the show in Week 1. McLane Carter showed the Scarlet Knights could eventually have a QB to rely in 2019 and was healthy then.
Nope, Carter suffered a concussion against Iowa and never returned to the area. After announcing his retirement from soccer on 15, Hell never come back to the field. Its a wise move by Carter whos currently placing his health prior to soccer, which was not likely to lead to a professional career.
In Lubbock he showcased possible for two or three games as a Red Raider. Nothing materialized for him and his profession at Rutgers was short lived. He may be the real thing this year to lead Rutgers to a triumph, so that is something, I suppose.
Carter beat Artur Sitkowski in school camp out to find the job. It didnt last long since Carter had to depart with this concussion against Iowa. When Sitowski trotted it out had to make Rutgers lovers apologize. Sitkowski was the starter in New Jersey last season and it had been, well, intriguing.
Sitkowski was the quarterback from the FBS. He threw a yikes worthy 4 touchdowns and 18 interceptions with only 49.1percent completions. Theyd have went in that direction if Rutgers had anyone behind him on the depth chart afterward. Sitkowski had zero competition despite being terrible, so that he played the season at quarterback out.
Sitkowski is obviously gun shy, although the ball hasnt turned nearly as much thus far. New head trainer Nunzio Campanile, who replaced Chris Ash, can be attempting to keep it easy for Sitkowski. Head under for our free Minnesota vs. Rutgers select.

Rutgers were intending on running their crime around the ground match of Raheem Blackshear. They were planning to hammer on the ball and branch out from there. But, Blackshear and Rutgers have agreed to have a redshirt, not play another game this year. That gives a second year of eligibility to him for what hopefully is a far better Rutgers group in a couple of years. This is a season, so that there is no point in burning a year of Blackshear and potentially getting him hurt in blowouts.
Sitkowski has passed this season. His touchdown pass was against BC at a 30-16 loss. Sitkowski is a true pocket passer. Carter could roll from the pocket and needed a bit of mobility, but Sitkowski is exactly what you call a priest. If he can pass the football theres nothing wrong with that. So Rutgers is limited with what they could do with him, However he can not. Sitkowski doesnt have the benefit of handing off the ball to Blackshear.
Rutgers might have to navigate beyond a Minnesota defense who have enabled just 311.8 meters per match. With an average of just 192 passing yards, theyve been strong against the pass in particular. Its tough to have a lot of faith in Sitkowski doing something in this competition. In his latest outing, Sitkowski passed for 106 yards at a 52-0 blowout against Michigan.
They were on the opposite side of the coin, although conversely, Minnesota are coming from a blowout also. The Gophers withdrew the Nebraska Cornhuskers from the water with a score of 34-7. Nebraska are one of the teams in college football this past year, a 25, and Minnesota made their year. The game headed by Rodney Smith, who is in the top-10 with 675 rushing yards per game, is going to be a load.
The Golden Gophers are averaging 186.2 yards per game to the floor. Its terrible news for a Rutgers staff whove gotten gashed for over 200 yards rushing a game. Theyve been better against the move, but gash Rutgers around the floor and Minnesota are going to help keep the ball. This looks like yet another loss for Rutgers, although it may not be as ugly as the Michigan match. A 42-7 win to give them the cover Saturday at New Jersey.
