The group is led economist Andrew Zimbalist, labor attorney Lucas Middlebrook and by baseball agent Jeff Borris. Here is what the press release had to say. “PFA will not only be a union of fighters, but it will be governed exclusively by fighters, but it’s the fighters that will control their own futures. The PFA has also obtained assistance from NBAPA, NFLPA, NHLPA, the MLBPA and MLSPU. I have been privileged to represent elite athletes for nearly 40 years, and believe more than ever in the benefits of collective bargaining to enhance and enhance terms and conditions of employment, that’s why I fully support and encourage efforts of their fighters to organize a union to represent them.” Said NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr.
