Race Profile
The Richmond Raceway was a part of NASCAR since the 1950s. It’s among the places to host NASCAR races and it’s a place where a lot of the legends of NASCAR have been created. Lee Petty, Richard Petty’s father, won the first race here. NASCAR has run races in Richmond every year.
The track has an asphalt surface with a space of .75 miles. It’s a basic d-shape oval with a backstretch, a stretch that is front, and 4 turns.
